Mental Health First Aid Youth (MHFAY) is a nationwide initiative to train schools staff as Youth MHFA Champions.
The course provides champions with the skills to be able to listen effectively to their students and to be able to talk about mental health issues in a safe environment in order to remove the stigma and then signpost to appropriate support and advice. Enabling staff and students to engage in meaningful and impactful conversations about mental health in itself helps to develop resilience and a sense of hope with action. MHFA Youth training will help staff to feel more confident about mental health issues and to have a clear understanding of where they need to go to access further help and support.
This session is suitable for staff working with children and young people aged 8 to 18
